What is euthanasia in dogs?

Euthanasia for pets is a procedure by which pets with incurable diseases that cause a loss of quality of life and suffering for them are euthanized.

The objective of euthanasia in dogs is to avoid further pain for those pets that have a prolonged or in some cases incurable disease that can cause them a lot of pain.

Making the decision to euthanize is a very complicated time for many families and for this reason we always recommend that you make the decision with your trusted veterinarian or with our veterinarian at the center so that we can diagnose if you can proceed with the euthanasia.

When should we apply it?

It is important to keep in mind that in order to proceed with euthanasia, there must first be a diagnosis that proves that the pet is in a terminal process or with a disease that is incurable for him/her.

The veterinarian must give approval to proceed with the euthanasia of the pet and subsequent consent of the family to proceed with the death of the pet.

How can we help from our center?

Des del Tanatorio de Mascotas “Su Amor Deja Huella”, podemos organizar la eutanasia a domicilio con uno de nuestros veterinarios colaboradores para que el último adiós se puede producir en casa, en su hogar junto a su familia.

Once the euthanasia has been performed, we would proceed with the individual cremation service or collective cremation in our center and later we would deliver the ashes and mementos that the relatives have wanted to take. You can check the prices of cremation on our website.
